Fingon by DappleHack Fingon by DappleHack
"... and Fingon strung an arrow, and bent his bow. And seeing no better hope he cried to Manwe (...) His prayer was answered swiftly."

J.R.R.Tolkien, "The Silmarillion"

One more very old watercolour.

You've really captured the emotion of the moment in his expression.  And I love the detail of the tear!

I knew what part it was when i saw the thumbnail. The emotion is so palpable, & i like how you included Thorondor swooping in from behind.

This is a fantastic picture - I love the background, and I'm truly envious of your watercolour skills. One thing I'd say, though, is that his eyes look a little too big for his face. I mean, it may well be a style thing, I've not yet had a chance to look at the rest of your gallery. Still, with the rest of it being a more realistic style (especially the skintone and shadows of the face <3) the eyes look a little out of place.

Still an amazing painting, though.

Yes, I'm aware that the eyes I draw are sometimes much bigger than in real. For me it is closely connected to my point of view about what beauty is - that's partly why I draw elves with big (as some of my friends have said "iconic") eyes...
I'm trying to make the normal eyes to te humans, though %)))
